Malti is a member of the Mahila Milan SHG and has spent 25 years working in marginalized communities to increase savings among the poor, running local police stations, building public toilets and day care centers, and giving speeches about community development in almost every continent in the world. She is a slum resident herself and menstrual hygiene is a very compelling issue for her.
